WYANDOTTE

The Wyandotte made the best purebred list, and the Gold Laced variety is one of the most beautiful breeds for showing. Gold Laced Wyandottes are classed as an American breed by the APA. They have beautiful plumage that looks like stained glass. They tolerate both heat and cold and lay eggs through the winter. Bred to be all-around birds, they have lived up to their purpose: great egg-layers, good meat quality and size, friendly and docile, and stunning in shows. They were taken off the Livestock Conservancy’s endangered list in 2016.
