FRENCH BLACK COPPER MARAN

French Black Copper Marans are known for their quality of egg over their quantity of egg. Laying a rich, dark brown egg that surpasses all others, Marans are sought after just for their eggs. Some children believe that these are chocolate Easter Eggs! Marans have the reputation for laying the best-tasting chicken egg in the world. (Perhaps, for these reasons, the author Ian Fleming identified Marans eggs as those most preferred by James Bond,  "Scrambled, not Stirred") Their appearance is quite pretty, with contrasting black and copper feathers with a beautiful iridescent green color.
