SUSSEX

The Sussex breed has been in production since 43 CE. First recognized by the APA in 1914, the Sussex is a great dual-purpose bird and can thrive in a variety of climates. They are a top choice for small homesteads. Their speckled plumage provides them with a natural camouflage to disguise them from predators. According to the Livestock Conservancy, their status is “recovering.”
