Golden Campine
The Campine chicken originated in northern Belgium and is an old European egg layer chicken breed. In addition to producing white shelled eggs, they were bred for egg production. The American Poultry Association added the Campine chicken to its Standard of Perfection in 1914. Golden Campines have beetle-green barred feathers on pure gold background, with a neck hackle of gold. Campine chickens are very active, very hardy, and very curious. Their legs are dark blue (like a Silkie) and their earlobes are pure white. A great addition to any flock.
